Just bought a 2012 ZXR14.
Installed two brothers carbons straight way as the standard cans look ghastly.
Want to drop the idle speed down. According to the manual. there is a screw on left side.
Have looked .....It does NOT exist.
Any ideas ?

According to the manual. there is a screw on left side.
Hagrid is correct. Not sure what manual you have, but I just looked at the 2012 ZX-14R manual, and it says,
Idle Speed Adjustment: This motorcycle is equipped with the iddle speed control valve. The idle speed is adjusted automatically at the specified value (1100 rpm) by the idle speed control valve. Therefore, it is not necessary to adjust the idle speed normally.
No worries KO. Usually it concerns emissions. But other factors include mitigating heat and maintaining minimum oil flow.
Hagrid, I am sure soon we'll be seeing people complaining of idle issues once they start adding (second hand) aftermarket parts.

May want to check your throttle grip free play before you adjust your Idle screw.Freer flowing exhaust is gonna change your ECU fuel/air mixes. It may not be able to compensate accordingly??????Just a thought. When I installed my Brock's piping...the mapping was designed to keep the idle at the factory level...which it did.ECU was Guhl flashed...but that didn't affect the idle...I switched back and forth just to see...the factory ECU ran 'almost' the same as the Guhl flashed one...except for the timing advance...which didn't change the idle at all.I'd say it was the mapping.
I'd be cautious about messing with that factory setup.(idle valve and screws).Kinda like that factory TPS...you get in there and start messing with it...no telling what you might do to it.
Like Hagrid said...it's not just an idle adjuster...there's other factors going on as well.

Is the idle not adjusting itself? starts up around 1600rpms then falls to around 1000 or so. you didn't remove the PAIR system did you? others have found out you cannot remove the air switching valve from the 2012s as it controls your idle speed.

i noticed on my 2012 when moving the idle is slightly higher and doesnt drop down to 1100rpm until bike comes to a complete stop, sometimes making it feel as if the bike is being pushed alone under braking. Not sure if it the way the 2012 are set up with the new idle speed adjuster or if something is wrong ???
